Leben Homes’ very own Daniel McGrane was recently interviewed by Vanessa Jarret of The Courier Mail, where he shared the latest updates from Leben Homes and what we’re excited to achieve for NDIS participants in regional Queensland.

While some of our SDA properties are already well underway (including those in Rockhampton, Mackay and Bowen), Daniel shared with The Courier Mail that Leben Homes intends to reach even more NDIS participants in regional Queensland with 74 homes planned for areas including Mount Isa, Townsville, Airlie Beach, Yeppoon, Bundaberg, Gympie, Hervey Bay and Toowoomba.

Locations were carefully selected to provide optimal convenience for NDIS participants, while data from the NDIS showed public demand.

“Metropolitan regions have seen some development (which is great) but the regional areas, especially those north of Brisbane, have unfortunately not seen this same kind of response, leaving many participants’ needs unmet, ” Daniel explained to The Courier Mail.

Highlighting some of the features of a Leben Homes SDA, Daniel shared with The Courier Mail that each property has been designed specifically for the needs and wishes of NDIS participants.

“We are building homes that feel like home; forever homes that provide participants the control to live their life their way,” Mr McGrane told The Courier Mail.

“We see the design requirements as specified by the NDIA as a baseline and something we have been determined to surpass.

“With modern design and finishes, multiple spaces for carers to perform their roles, ample common room area for recreation and family-time, our homes will be a sanctuary that participants will feel proud to call their own,” he said.

Daniel told The Courier Mail about the teams on the ground supporting NDIS participants to find an SDA that’s right for them.

“We are working with a fantastic SDA Registered Provider (Adapt Housing) and Care Providers (LiveBetter) who are taking the time to talk with people, to understand their circumstances and their accommodation and support needs,” Mr McGrane told The Courier Mail.

“We are also assisting people who are seeking NDIS funding, by working with their Support Coordinators and providing necessary information to the NDIA,” he said.

Completion of three Leben Homes SDA properties is expected by mid 2023.

“Our diligent builder is working tirelessly to deliver these homes on time and to an incredibly high standard,” Mr McGrane shared with The Courier Mail.
